Boys & Girls Club of Hernando County (BGCHC) provides fun, engaging, and educational before-and-after school programming within Hernando County’s public schools. We also provide early childhood education at seven preschool locations. Our mission is to enable children, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

As an Infant/Ones Preschool Teacher at our daycare/preschool locations, you are fully responsible for a classroom of up to 4 infants and one-year olds. You create your own age-appropriate lesson plans using Funnydaffer curriculum according to monthly themes. You follow an individualized schedule for each infant. Diaper changes are done every two hours or as needed. Following Department of Children and Families (DCF) regulations at all times is imperative to the infants' health and safety. Throughout the day, you also complete a daily log of diaper changes, feedings and other noteworthy actions in order to keep parents informed.

When the babies are hungry, you hold them to bottle feed or sit at eye-level and feed them cereal, baby food, or other nutritious goodies packed by their parents. During nap time, you follow safe sleep practices. While they are sleeping, you work on lesson plans for upcoming weeks as well as clean and disinfect classroom and its contents. When you're not taking care of their basic needs, you keep the children engaged in activities to encourage Brain, Social, Emotional, Physical and Behavioral Development; while aiding communication, language and literacy. You sing, dance, read, and play. You create handprint and footprint art projects that parents will treasure forever.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• 8:00am-4:30pm, however, all schedules are subject to adjustment

Pay

• $13.25-$14.00/hr, based on credentials

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• One year of experience is highly preferred
• DCF 45 Hour Child Care credential is highly preferred; ability to complete within 90 days of employment if not already credentialed
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to our daycares throughout Spring Hill & Brooksville if needed
• Ability to pass a Level II background check and pre-employment drug test
