Job Summary:
The Quality Sharpshooter is responsible for participating and leading continuous improvement activities surrounding Quality issues and process improvements found or escalated during production. The Quality Sharpshooter will be able fill in to help or perform all quality inspection roles and perform and lead quality audits.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Has demonstrated the ability to understand and lead on the requirements, policies, and guidelines set forth within the Code of Conduct & Employee Handbook expectations. The expectation is no write-ups and achieving at least 100% of the monthly attendance bonus on a regular basis with occasionally achieving quarterly perfect attendance bonus.
  • Has demonstrated the ability to comply the Company's Safety and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) guidelines.
  • Has fulfilled the "I Decide" quality training.
  • Has demonstrated the ability to train, coach, can be put anywhere on the Quality team as a utility player to work with a team to problem solve and find root cause analysis.
  • Has demonstrated the ability to understand importance of following work instructions to complete the daily work targets with zero defects for at least the jobs in their respective work zone or sharpshooter area of focus. Must have the ability to escalate changes to standard work and retrain on areas needed.
  • Has demonstrated the ability to communicate professionally and escalate quality discrepancies to the proper channels.
  • Has demonstrated the ability to step in and lead the work area when required.
  • Has demonstrated the ability to operate testing equipment to ensure all functional parts are working and in good quality.
  • Has demonstrated the ability to follow an escalation process, strong enough to stop non-compliant product, and aid in solving the problem upline. Must know how to lead a Quality Blitz Gemba.
  • Has demonstrated the ability to follow the No Fault Forward Stop Gate procedure in production.
  • Must be able to understand and lead production line moves (Takt) and maintain the HR/HR boards.
  • Be articulate and technical enough to convey and train a standard and why something is acceptable or not while staying calm and professional. Demonstrates the ability to make quick rational decisions with clear explanation of the reason.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to interview and select "good fit" employees as a part of recruiting future employees.
  • Pay Rates starting between $26-31/hr depending on experience
Skills & Knowledge:
  • Must have a minimum of 4 years Quality experience and or 2 years of lean related training.
  • Must be able to participate and lead continuous improvement activities. (i.e. Kaizen, 5S, 8D's)
  • Must have a performance history of quality conscious work, good attendance, and safe work habits.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to professionally communicate thoughts and ideas to co-workers and management.
  • Has demonstrated the ability to Communicate honestly, professionally and respectfully with others and demonstrates effective listening skills. Communication with Team Leads, Group Leaders, Supervisors, and Plant Managers will be a must.
  • Has demonstrated the ability to quickly adapt to changes in responsibility (work duties) processes, procedures, or work schedules.
  • Has demonstrated the ability problem solve, correct and retrain quality discrepancies.
  • Has demonstrated the ability to multi-task and willingness to be flexible with time and schedule.
  • Must have working knowledge of PC programs (Word, Excel, and email) including the ability to enter and retrieve data. Must be able to present the data to team members in KPI meetings or Gemba meetings.
  • Must be able to perform all the Quality Inspection roles and train peers on the positions.
  • Must be able to escalate any issues found on the HR/HR boards to the Gemba Newspapers.
  • Has demonstrated the ability to work indoors, in tight spaces, and without air conditioning
  • Exposure to noise, dust, fiberglass, and cleaning chemicals
  • Has demonstrated the ability to continuously stand, walk, reach while frequently crouching, bending, & climbing throughout the workday. Will need to use ladders to climb in and out of boats.
PPE Requirement:
  • Safety Glasses within production areas
  • Steel toe shoes withing production areas
  • Gloves required when in production areas performing work on a boat
