Stephenson Nursing Center (formerly known as Walnut Acres)

New leadership: This Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) is owned and operated by Stephenson County, but now managed by Transitional Care Management. We have a new Administrator, new clinical programming and we are expanding our team.

With 148 beds, we serve a diverse population of short-term rehab patients, long term care residents and memory care. We have an active therapy dept. achieving terrific functional gains and a remarkable restorative program.

Job Description


What you will do in this role
: In our medical facility the Human Resources Representative will be an integral part of the team. You will be overseeing the bi-weekly payroll process, onboarding & orientation of all new staff, benefit enrollment, personnel record management and recruitment of the line staff. While this is primarily an administrative role, you may also be involved with some employee retention & recognition programs along the way. Come join us; it’s a busy day here!

  • We are seeking candidates with prior entry level experience as either an HR/Payroll Clerk or HR Coordinator.

A sample list of the daily duties:

  • Payroll: Responsible for monitoring and processing facility payroll, including generating and editing daily punch detail reports; entering any special shift bonus’, sick, vacation, and holiday hours; processing any changes (New Hires or Separations), union payroll/dues …
  • Answering general benefit & policy questions
  • Enters and trains new employees into the payroll and time clock system
  • Maintains I-9 forms and other required documents
  • Maintains employee personnel files, and conduct quarterly audits on each file for Federal and State required materials
  • Posts hourly positions in ATS, schedules interviews and on-boards all new employees
  • Completes reference checks, background checks and verifies licenses for our healthcare providers

Qualifications


Human Resources Representative:
officially we title this job a “Crew Chief”, but in other centers it may be called an HR Rep, Payroll Clerk or HR Specialist.

What we need from you:

  • Education: Associates or Bachelor Degree or Technical Degree in Accounting or HR is preferred
  • Prior experience working in a skilled nursing / healthcare facility is desired
  • Experience: 2-3 years in payroll processing is a must
  • Prior experience with entry level HR administrative duties
  • We follow the CMS & IDPH rules for the Covid-19 vaccine. You should be fully vaccinated or you will be required to submit an exemption. Details will be discussed during your interview.
