A considerable amount of responsibility will be answering inquiries and providing information to the general public, customers, visitors, and other parties regarding activities conducted at Nomad. The additional elements to this role will be to assist the Human Resources Department with process administration, maintaining personnel related documentation, including staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, and file maintenance. This is an excellent role for someone who is interested in starting their career in the Human Resources field. Essential Functions / Responsibility:
Receptionist Duties:

  • Greet vendors and guests to our establishment, while representing the company in the utmost friendly, professional manner; ask them to sign in and follow check-in protocol. Escort visitors to their destination if necessary.
  • Call appropriate staff member to greet their guest(s) in the lobby (extension, cell, page).
  • Keep a daily record of all visitors/appointments scheduled to be at Nomad.
  • Complete hospitality tasks:
  • Assist in scheduling client and vendor visits, in cooperation with the Executive Assistant, Sales, Project Management, etc.
  • Order, pickup, and set out meals as required using a Nomad-issued credit card.
  • Prepare snacks and drinks for visitors.
  • Promptly clean up conference rooms after visits.
  • Purchase and maintain stock of snacks and drinks.
  • Schedule space or equipment for special programs and prepare lists of participants/attendees.
  • Direct vendors/deliveries towards appropriate building locations for drop off.
  • Transfer external calls to internal Nomad employees via call directory.
  • Run errands as needed.

Human Resources Assistant Duties:

  • Oversee and direct drug testing policy and quarterly testing, coordinating with Logan Health to schedule onsite and offsite testing for Team Members.
  • Create, edit, and update, with supervisor input, job descriptions for all positions.
  • Maintain Strengths Finder reports and provide input to supervisors on employee testing.
  • Assist Recruiter with State or Federal grants related to job training and retention, gathering internal and external data for grant submission.
  • Explain company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants.
  • Update and manage Nomad’s Employee Handbook in compliance with State and Federal laws under the direction of the Chief of People and Development.
  • Represent Nomad at local job fairs when necessary.
  • Post job openings on designated websites.
  • Under the direction of the Chief of People and Development, assist with rollout of performance evaluations and reviews and conduct HRIS audits as requested.
  • Additional duties assigned as requested/needed.

Basic Knowledge Desired:

  • Principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.
  • Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems, such as Microsoft programs, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
  • Communicate effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Use computers and software to enter data, and process and present information,
  • Maintain consistent up-to-date technical knowledge and apply to position.
  • Ability to constantly multi-task, prioritizing tasks and successfully accomplishing them in a well thought out order.

Physical Demands:

  • This position requires regular sitting, standing, walking, listening, and speaking. Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds is required.

Working Environment:

  • Typical indoor manufacturing environment. Noise level is usually moderate. Safety glasses and closed toe shoes are required when on the Production floor.
  • Everyday workwear must be business casual/smart casual and appropriate for the office environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous clerical / front desk experience, 1 -2 years preferred.
  • Some Human Resources experience is helpful but not required.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent time and project management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must have a strong drive to continuously learn about how Human Resources operates, as well as its implemented policies and procedures for the betterment of the department.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
