HR Specialist (Part time 20-24 hours/week)

A Cardillo Corp & BoomX Cannabis is seeking a results-oriented human resources professional for our Shirley MA office with the ability to create and implement a comprehensive human resources experience. This is a professional position requiring discretion and the ability to work independently and in a team environment. We are looking for a person who can shape the future of the human resources department and become integral to the culture of the firm..

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates the highest level of integrity and confidentiality. Maintains personal employee information including wages, demographic, discipline, accommodation requests, and family matters, in the strictest confidence.
  • Protects company confidential information.
  • Works to eliminate Paychex HR services and create an internal HR department
  • Coordinates applicant flow processes from recruitment through selection. Coordinates hiring needs with senior leadership. Places recruitment ads, reviews resumes, and conducts initial interviews of job applicants.
  • Create, implement and conduct on-boarding and off-boarding procedures.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to monitor Performance Evaluation Program (including 90-day and annual reviews) for all employees.
  • Investigate causes of employee disputes and grievances and recommends corrective action
  • Administers benefits and compensation programs, including, but not limited to, Healthcare, 401(k), Workers Comp, STD, Unemployment, Cobra, Leave of Absences, etc. Ensure all information is disseminated, collected and processed according to deadlines.
  • Collaborate with departments on employee performance and employee team-building activities in and out of the office. Recommend strategies to motivate employees and increase retention.
  • Always maintain strict confidentiality and discretion in all interactions with others in order to represent the company professionally
  • Respond to basic Human Resources related questions regarding policy, PTO, etc.
  • Keep up to date with current employment law for MA
  • Keep up to date with Cannabis Control Commission (CCC) regulations and compliance
  • Registration of agents with the CCC
  • Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practice
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, preferred
  • 3-5 years prior HR Generalist experience
  • Strong PC, outlook, and excel knowledge
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Part time hours (20-24 hours/week)
  • Must pass any and all required background checks and be able to obtain a CCC registered agent license
  • Must be and remain compliant with any and all regulatory requirements for working in the cannabis industry
  • Must have excellent organization and time management skills
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively
