Responsibilities:
- Employing histological techniques in histology.
- Capable of performing all clerical/computer functions regarding workload, quality assurance, quality control, data entry, and report generation.
- Capable of performing lab tasks, including but not limited to: embedding, cutting and staining specimens.
- Is knowledgeable of all equipment operation and maintenance.
- Is knowledgeable of all policies and procedures of histology.
- Conducts all tasks compliantly with CLIA, and CAP regulations.
- Capable of communicating mechanical issues with service techs, fellow techs and lab supervisor and/or lab manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED plus 60 semester hours with a combination of 12 semester hours in biology AND chemistry, OR an associate degree with a combination of 12 semester hours in biology and chemistry (within or in addition to associate degree).
- Ability to work an occasional weekends and on-call duties.
- Required Qualifications:
- HT (ASCP) certification
- 3-5 years of full-time clinical experience in histopathology laboratory within the last five years.
