WHAT TO EXPECT

As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward-thinking, open-minded, and well-rounded individuals to join our global team. Located in our downtown Denver office, you will be to optimize the company's approach to transfer pricing, including monitoring and maintaining appropriate intercompany pricing for goods, services, and intellectual property and related agreements; oversee operation of a European principal operating model; ensure all appropriate documentation is maintained; assist with tax planning, reporting and compliance; and drive transfer pricing controversies and APAs to a successful resolution.


  • You'll report directly to the Vice President, Global Tax. It is a key tax leadership role in a 14-person global tax department

Key responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the business and external advisors to ensure that appropriate transfer pricing policies are maintained and appropriately applied; and identify any potential opportunities for simplification or improvement.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional groups within Gates to support business expansion and operational restructuring
  • Manages transfer pricing changes and assists with developing new policies as new transactions are structured and new developments occur.
  • Recommends and, as approved, pursues transfer pricing related governmental rulings, APAs, or other agreements
  • Supports acquisition due diligence and planning reliant on transfer pricing expertise
  • Manages or supports transfer pricing controversies in the US and abroad
  • Manages or supports transfer pricing compliance related to OECD documentation requirements, specifically Country-by-Country Report, Master File and Local Files
  • Performs research and analyses to identify and proactively plan for changes in transfer pricing law
  • Liaises with and advises on local country transfer pricing disclosures ensuring accuracy of information reported and consistency with transfer pricing positions taken historically as well as in other transfer pricing documentation
  • Improves tax processes and controls, eliminating manual work and improving efficiencies where possible including the implementation of technology tools
  • Along with the EMEA Tax Director, the Global Transfer Pricing Director will play a critical role in maintaining a European principal operating company model


ABOUT YOU

  • BA, Masters, or Ph.D. preferably in Economics, Finance, or Accounting
  • 8+ years of relevant transfer pricing advisory experience
  • General understanding of domestic and international tax concepts
  • Demonstrated understanding of complex transfer pricing concepts, including an in-depth knowledge of IRC Section 482 regulations and OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines
  • Experience in a global industrial manufacturing sector with IP and supply chain planning is desirable
  • A demonstrated ability to self-direct and effectively organize and prioritize under tight deadlines
  • Excellent project management and presentation skills required
  • Ability to establish and build partnerships with different departments, business partners and management
  • Significant understanding of financial accounting principles and an ability to analyze and understand financial statements
  • 10% travel is required
  • Excited to work in the office with great teammates
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship


PAY & BENEFITS

  • Full-Time
  • Salary: $180,000 - $240,000
  • Bonus Eligible
