Global Material Group Manager - Packaging at our location in Gastonia, NC

REQUIREMENTS:

• Definition and execution of Material Group (MG) and supplier strategies, manages supplier strategy, supplier development and supplier quality in cooperation with various stakeholders
• Coordination of global MG-Team and managing respective Lead Buyers for his/her commodity also in other MANN+HUMMEL locations. This includes material group related target setting and monitoring of target achievement as well as co-determination with regards to performance evaluation in agreement with the relevant Hub or Branch Manager
• Leads global planning, forecasting & reporting of MG, especially material price, and ratio projects development
• Has responsibility for achievement of material price development within the MG globally and negotiate perspective contracts
• Assures the necessary cross-functional collaboration with other functions (e.g., R&D) for product innovations, future needs of the relevant material group and advanced sourcing activities
• Drives key sourcing decisions in close collaboration with Lead Buyers / Commodity Buyers and participation in the Sourcing Board
• Provides commodity, technology, and supplier market know-how for the organization
• Identifies and approves new suppliers, manages supplier relations and supplier related initiatives
• Responsible for supplier risk management and high-level supplier escalation issues
• Cooperates with other purchasing functions and internal stakeholders to ensure delivery of service and alignment with strategy
• Fosters standardization of materials, material processes and data processes within the MG plus develops / implements new MG processes / documents
• Negotiates and agrees key supplier objectives, basic terms & conditions / prices and other commercial topics (e.g., payment terms, Incoterms)
• He /she represents M+H at top management level at supplier
• Initiates and implements ratio projects (in cooperation with Lead Buyer / Commodity Buyers and sites), supports global plus cross-functional savings projects
• Supports and coordinates RFQ Management, negotiations, and supplier selection process within relevant (global+market) customer projects

YOUR PROFILE:

Education:

• Master’s and/or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and/or Engineering or other relevant field- 5 years’ minimum experience working in an accounting department

Experience:

• At least 8 years of relevant work experience in purchasing roles
• 2+ years of leadership and team development experience, including virtual/remote team environments
• Purchasing experience in a global enterprise setting
• Strategic thinking and experience in development and implementation of Material group strategy

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
