Purpose of the Role/Role Overview:
GIS related to ensure database and fiber optic network design accuracy.
This position will require the individual to work out of the Corporate Office located in Overland Park, KS, this will not be a remote position.
General Duties / Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring database(s) related to network designs is accurate/complete and represents clients’ needs/expectations.
- Update as-built information into NetPMD Solutions design software and/or client database to ensure deliverable meets expectations.
- Conduct research to find GIS information related to road types/addresses/utility information/etc. for the engineering teams to perform fiber optic network designs and/or permitting.
- Any and all duties related to GIS activities that may be required for project(s).
Required Job Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 year GIS experience within the industry
- Fiber optic network design experience is desirable.
Required Training/Licenses/Certifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- GIS or relevant BA Degree
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and have a valid driver’s license.
Required Technical Experience:
- Experience with ESRI products – QGIS, ArcGIS, AGOL, ArcMap, ArcCollector, ArcPro, or other relevant GIS based software.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products and routine office equipment.
Required Soft Skills
- Self-Starter
- Advanced Written and Verbal Communication Skills.
- Ability to work independently and with moderate supervision or as a part of a team.
- Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
Required Travel
- 0-5%
