Founded by Michael Carey, Stock & Trade Design Co. was created in 2012, within a 1,000 sq. ft. showroom in Birmingham, Alabama. Michael’s love for furniture and design was born from a passion for real estate and construction. Now 10 years later, Stock and Trade is growing strong with 5 retail stores, a growing social media presence and solid business to business relationships within our communities. We are now poised for our next stage; the launch of our flagship store at The District in Santa Rosa Beach.

The Gallery Leader is responsible for overall profitability, people development, customer experience & maintaining operational standards. The Gallery Leader sets the tone at the top & exemplifies servant leadership - putting team before self. The ideal candidate is energetic, dependable, self-driven, & highly motivated.

REQUIRED

  • 5+ years previous experience in a leadership role, specifically in the luxury retail, home furnishings, or interior design industries
  • Weekends & holidays required
  • Strong understanding of KPI’s that drive demand
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results in a leadership role and to develop staff & team atmosphere

DUTIES

  • Use “Customers First” as your guide for all business decisions
  • Recruit, interview, hire, coach, develop & retain top talent for your store
  • Lead, coach & develop team of Assistant Managers, Designers, Design Consultants, Trade Consultants, Support

Associates, Visual Coordinators & Receiving Associates

  • Responsible for growth & development of team through weekly touch bases & accountability
  • Direct supervision to sales staff including training, maintaining quotas & KPI’s and developing goals
  • Develop team through side by side, in the moment coaching
  • Represent the brand through high-level communication, personal appearance & professionalism
  • Maintain a strong interest & knowledge of design industry trends
  • Work in partnership with Corporate Partners on community outreach and events to grow brand recognition in the Nashville market
  • Maintains strong presence on the sales floor, ensuring high level customer service is delivered to every customer
  • Resolve customer service issues in a timely & cost effective manner, while maintaining professionalism, integrity & respect
  • Creates strategic schedules for the team in a timely manner
  • Schedule workforce based on ongoing review of sales by hour, day, week and month reports and workload to maximize sales and minimize payroll shrink
  • Monitor and control payroll hours against sales delivered to minimize bottom line shrink
  • Closely monitors & controls store P&L, driving goals through driving sales & controlling expenses including, but not limited to supplies, payroll, customer accommodations, & damages
  • Ensure consistent & proper flow of all customer orders, while properly safeguarding & record-keeping over the company’s inventory & asset investment
  • Ensures cash counts & deposits are accurately recorded & reconciled daily at open & close
  • Stays current on analyzing reports & reconciling issues found when reviewing data

DUTIES(CONTINUED)

  • Daily, weekly, monthly review of invoices and invoice reports to ensure invoices are reconciled to operational standards.
  • Maintains visual & quality standards set forth by Regional Director & Corporate Partners
  • Participates in opening & closing of the galleries: sweep, windex, vacuum, straighten sales floor
  • Ability to stand and maneuver on concrete sales floor for long durations (rest periods provided)
  • Participates in cycle counts & physical inventories
  • Other duties as assigned
