Free Clinic Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse

The Community Connections Free Clinic in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, is looking for a Registered Nurse or a Licensed Practical Nurse for a part-time schedule of 24 to 32 hours per week. At 30 hours per week, the position becomes eligible for full-time benefits.

The Community Connections Free Clinic offers free medical care to people in the community that are without health insurance. The Nurse provides clinical support to patients at our clinic in Dodgeville and at selected community sites. The Nurse also manages a group of volunteers and serves as the back-up to the clinic’s Nurse Manager. The ability to speak Spanish, or an interest in learning Spanish, is highly desirable. The Community Connections Free Clinic is a flexible and supportive work environment.

Examples of the Nurse’s responsibilities:

· Manage the clinic on evening a week. This includes scheduling virtual visits and providing needed follow-up.

· Manage the clinic’s “Free Clinic on Wheels” farm visits. This includes outreach to farms, scheduling, staffing and follow-up.

· Support the clinic’s Administrative Assistant in managing volunteers. This includes recruiting, checking credentials, checking-in with volunteers regularly, scheduling, recognition, providing snacks and tracking volunteer hours.

· Working with the Nurse Manager and Administrative Assistant to assure the smooth operation of the clinic.
