GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Foreman (FOREMAN) controls time, cost and quality of residential and commercial construction projects. FOREMAN plans and coordinates all aspects of the construction process. A FOREMAN will oversee entire restoration of single or multiple projects.

Foreman will determine the scheduling of different phases of a project based on established deadlines. They often negotiate contracts with vendors, contractors and other workers. A FOREMAN is accountable for assuring drawings, building permits and licenses are secured in a timely manner. The FOREMAN will assure delivery of materials and equipment to construction sites per scope of work.

As a project continues, Foreman typically confer with foreman or leads to monitor construction progress, including worker productivity and compliance with building and safety codes. Because they must ensure that all projects are completed according to schedule, Foreman must resolve problems that arise due to unforeseen circumstances that may cause delays.

JOB DUTIES

  • Work with estimator and client from start of each project to ensure delivery of the project scope and vision
  • Determine resources (manpower, equipment and materials) start to finish with attention to labor costs
  • Supervise crews per Baxter Construction LLC organization flow chart
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
  • Able to read line-item budgets and negotiate written change orders per customer request
  • Conduct walks through meetings on-site with foreman and construction crew
  • Negotiate with vendors, suppliers and subcontractors to reach profitable agreements
  • Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities and follow through to sign off of each permit.
  • Request appropriate power and water connections for projects
  • Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
  • Supervise the work of Project Forman, leads, general laborers, etc. and give them guidance when needed
  • Responsible to review Forman clocked hours and sign off per weekly pay period
  • Able to learn and use proprietary industry specific management software (DASH)
  • Evaluate progress and maintain all notes, photos, updates in DASH
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and report issues taking corrective actions as needed
  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • A team player with leadership abilities

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills
  • (5) years of construction experience in multiple phases of residential and commercial projects
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Excellent data entry skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Effective verbal, listening and written communication skills
  • Effective organizational, stress and time management skills
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
  • Must have your own hand tools.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $30.00 per hour
