Position: Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst

Location: Bethesda, Maryland; Hybrid - Maryland, Virginia or Washington, D.C.

This is a hybrid position where you will work out of the Bethesda, MD office 2 days/week.

Overview

Collage Group is seeking a Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst "FP&A Analyst" who will work with accounting and understands sales Operations to join our innovative and growing team. The FP&A Analyst partners cross functionally with leadership teams and provides them with the analysis and information they need to make major operational, financial, and strategic decisions.

Duties will include analyze, plan, budget, report, and assist in decision making by identifying, maintaining, and evaluating information and recommending strategic, operational, and tactical actions based on their findings. In addition, you will be responsible for measuring and tracking business metrics across all departments within the Company.

What you will do

  • Coordinate with accounting, senior management and heads of departments.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate expense categorization and report on actual vs budget.
  • Prepare financial and budgets and forecasts plans for individual departments and the wider organization
  • Review monthly reporting package including P&L, Balance Sheet and Statement of Cash Flows and related variance analysis
  • Review commissions and payroll on a bi-monthly basis
  • Prepare and update departmental metrics on a bi-monthly basis including performing sales data analysis, sales forecasting, sales and marketing funnel metrics, analyzing, and reporting on customer performance and usage.
  • Create financial models, investment memos, financial projections, and budgeting to predict growth and forecast performance, and present your recommendations to senior management
  • Drive continuous process improvements in reporting, forecasting, and budgeting activities through automation and system enhancements.
  • Participate in all stages of capital raising, including contact and analysis for investors, strategic planning and analysis
  • Assist in yearly audits of financial statements
  • Ad-hoc analysis, as required

What you have done

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or another related field
  • 1-3 years working as a Finance Analyst or Management Accountant
  • Express yourself clearly using strong analytical and problem-solving skills, critical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to synthesize
  • Worked extensively in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Proven success while working under pressure
  • Proactive approach and works well in a team setting
  • Worked with Financial Modeling, Projections, Budgets, and deep understanding of financial statements
  • Solved problems by leveraging data and research
  • Understand the necessity and value of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Process information with high levels of accuracy
  • Have the ability to present ideas clearly through oral, written, visual, and non-verbal communication
