Solaris Biotechnology designs and manufactures bioprocessing equipment, including bioreactors, fermenters, and tangential flow filtration (TFF) systems for use in food and beverage, biotechnology, and other life sciences markets.
One example where biotechnology is increasingly used is in the production of alternative proteins, such as artificial meats and plant-based meat substitutes. The bioreactors and fermenters offered by Solaris are used in complex processes that ultimately create these animal-free protein sources. Solaris products are also used in the production of food ingredients, such as flavors, aroma, food additives and an array of other high valued-enhanced products.
The company was founded in 2002 and is based in Porto Mantovano, Italy, with a showroom in Berkeley, California and Cambridge, MA. Its high-tech products are sold through distributors and used for academic and commercial research and development, and pilot and commercial scale manufacturing across a range of industries, including pharma, food and beverage, nutraceutical, cosmeceutical, chemical, agricultural, bioplastics and biofuels.
We are looking for Field Service Engineer II - LSSA - Bioprocess equipment. The purpose of this role is to perform installation, operator training, preventative maintenance, testing, inspection, troubleshooting, adjustments, calibrations, alignments, and part replacement of our products. Solid hands-on skills, excellent understanding of Bioprocess equipment’s, passion, and motivation to work within a dynamic, hard-working team is required.
Role Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with customer for site and utilities readiness to carry out installation and commissioning of bioprocessing units.
  • Responsible for Attending Customer complaints.
  • Responsible for product troubleshooting, customer complaints / maintenance & maintain service calls history.
  • Responsible for costing and quoting of maintenance contracts/offers to customers with assistance from management team.
  • In-house testing of equipment’s
  • Support to Projects team for electrical and site inputs
  • Good understanding of wiring diagrams / electrical drawings / P&I diagrams
  • Field service and installation Experience.
  • Good knowledge on Electrical Panels and instrumentation
  • Instruct customers on equipment operation, care, and maintenance
  • Represents the company in Field Service and Technical matters. To instill and maintain high standards of installation service towards the objective of complete
  • Customer satisfaction
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a Lifesciences/Bioengineering field
  • 5+ years of field service and maintenance experience of Bioprocess equipment’s
  • Testing, Supervision, installation, commissioning, and trouble- shooting.

Travel:
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel inside sales region- mainly Bay area (~50 – 60 % of time)
Salary Range:
  • CA Annual Salary Range is $70,500 to $109,300.
Actual salaries will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to applicable work experience, training, education, performance, and work location.
