MUSE Global is seeking a Facilities Team Member to join our Facilities Team and be our van driver for our route through the Valley. We are looking for someone who is detailed orientated, self-motivated, highly personable, has excellent teamwork skills, has expertise in various tools/equipment and can follow directions accurately.

Located in Calabasas, California, MUSE Global School is an innovative, holistic, private school offering in-person education for Pre-school–12th grade students. START DATE: Wednesday, July 5th

SCHEDULE: approx. 6:30am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, 12 months-per-year. This is an in-person position on a beautiful 22- acre campus in Calabasas.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2-5 years experience required
  • Knowledge of sustainable practices
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload
  • High school Diploma
  • Ability to work with students ages 2 – 18 years
  • Valid California Driver’s License
  • Able to use common tools
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be physically able to reach, bend and stoop
  • Able to lift 50 pounds and push 100 pounds
  • Be able to work in hot and loud environment for long periods of time
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)

RESPONSIBILITIES

FACILITIES

  • Execute job-related tasks and assignments from Facilities Manager and Administration
  • Purchase supplies, equipment, and materials to complete projects under the guidance of the Facilities Manager
  • Assemble and move furniture, hang pictures and bulletin boards, move and set up tables and chairs
  • Repair and replace door knobs or locks, door closures and patches holes in walls
  • Install wood flooring
  • Paint interior and exterior walls
  • Removal of all poisonous snakes
  • Transport goods or equipment as assigned
  • Perform immediate cleaning duties necessary to maintain clean facility
  • Dismantle and install furniture
  • Assist with departmental and employee moves
  • Assist kitchen staff when directed
  • Monitor and replace light bulbs in all assigned facilities as needed
  • Perform a variety of landscape maintenance work including maintenance, trimming, mulching, watering, irrigation, blowing
  • Participate in a wide variety of seasonal and special event preparation including setting up stages, tents, putting up banners and decorations, and removal and clean-up at the end of events
  • Participate in storm clean up and repairs
  • Organize tools and equipment for staff and students
  • Perform office duties which include, answering the phone, taking messages from parents, vendors etc.

VAN DRIVER

  • Transport students to and from school as required following a preplanned route according to a definite time when necessary
  • Manage time properly to ensure timely arrival for drop off and pick up
  • Transport students to and from field trips
  • Drive vehicle carefully and in compliance with traffic regulations
  • Assume responsibility for the safety of school children while on a vehicle
  • Instruct children in safety precautions and practices; maintain discipline; report unruly behavior to supervisor
  • Perform vehicle checks prior to departing; check water, gas, oil and mechanical condition
  • Clean van as necessary to maintain a professional appearance
  • Maintain and ensure that all van documentation is up to date
  • Drive using defensive driving techniques
  • Report delays and accidents in a timely manner
  • Report defects or problems with vehicle to supervisor; ensure van meets regular maintenance schedules
  • Familiarize self with student and parent population, especially those riding the van daily
  • Give proper notice to supervisor when calling off
  • Keep all credentials up to date
  • Keep DL current

SECURITY/ SAFETY

  • Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry
  • Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities; inform violators of policy and procedures
  • Familiarize self with staff and families who come on campus to ensure no trespassers; request identification for all unfamiliar visitors
  • Respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to staff and guests
  • Support with drop off and pick up- Control carpool by directing drivers; inform and enforce speed limit on campus
  • Be an active participant in Safety Team and enforce all procedures throughout campus, employees and parent/students
  • Maintain organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Assist in executing fire, lock down and earthquake drills
  • Report any safety concerns to Facilities Manager
  • Support in the campus preparation for special events
  • Demonstrate an Open, Resourceful and Persistent approach to all duties
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, ever-evolving environment
