Job description

A multi-specialty orthopedics practice is seeking an experienced medical claims specialist to join our billing team in our administrative office in Teaneck. The right candidate will be well-versed in claims resolutions and must be very knowledgeable in all payer types, including commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, PIP and WC insurances.

Responsibilities:
Daily claims submissions
Follow up with payers for timely resolution of all outstanding claims via emails, phone calls, faxes, and website portals
Ability to identify and resolve issues/trends causing payer payment delays and denials
Review aging report for any overpayment and ability to collect and analyze A/R reports
Ability to assist billing manager with daily tasks
Appeals and resolutions for denied claims
Payment posting and adjustments

Qualifications:
Strong working knowledge with electronic billing software
2+ years of medical billing and collections experience (preferably within orthopedic, spine, pain management, and/or podiatry practices)
High level of accuracy and organization
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
Must be able to work well independently as well as taking direction from other team members
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $24.00 per hour
