Guardian Glass in Corsicana, Texas is seeking you to become their next Electrical Controls Engineer! The Electrical Controls Engineer will provide technical expertise and project engineering as required to support their facility’s execution plan and operations. The Electrical Controls Engineer will be responsible for their facility’s controls project development, design, procurement, construction, and maintenance. The role will have direct impact on safety, reliability, cost reduction, and process improvement at the assigned facility.

What You Will Do In Your Role


  • Perform contractor analyses and selection, and contractor management as required
  • Supervise the on-site activities of R&M staff & contractors that are working with you or for you, to assure that the work is being done in full respect of safety rules, timelines, budget, and quality requirements
  • Be one of sites SMEs (Subject Matter Expert) regarding control systems and provide technical support to the operations and R&M teams daily as needed
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of successfully specifying, contracting, and supervising equipment and systems installation

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:


  • Three (3) or more years’ experience in one or both of the below two options:
    • Option 1: Experience supporting controls systems within a continuously operating manufacturing environment
    • Option 2: Field support engineer focused on troubleshooting & supporting control system
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or STEM field
  • PLC application experience
  • Willing to provide off-hours support to Reliability to operations as business needs permit
  • Experience specifying, installing, troubleshooting electrical systems of 480V and below
  • Experience preparing RFQs for contractors and vendors (Electrical, Mechanical, Controls, etc.)

What Will Put You Ahead


  • Experience working with and/or directing contractor on 13.2kVa electrical voltage system for repair & maintenance
  • CAD experience
  • Ten (10) or more years’ controls engineering experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Experience supporting a Float Glass electrical and/or controls systems
  • Experience supporting Large Area Sputter Coating electrical and/or controls systems
  • Capital Project Experience
