Job description
Alpha Boat Rentals is looking to hire a Dock Hand for our 2023 Season! As a dock hand, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operations of our charters each weekend, taking care of our guests as they load and unload, and ensuring our captains have a trusted partner on the dock to help them as they pull in and out of the dock. You will know or learn how to tie boat knots, as this will be done 30+ times per day.
This is a fairly active job, and will require carrying heavy objects. Clear communication skills and a strong work ethic are required.
Compensation: The pay for this role will be $15-30/hr depending on experience.
Location: Mansfield Dam Park
Hours: 18 hours / week. This is a part-time job every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
You will be:
- Tying boats up at the dock (knowledge of boat knots or willing to learn)
- Assist guests with loading and unloading from the boat (including carrying heavy coolers)
- Coordinating between captains and shore team
- Acting as a backup captain in the event you are needed (optional for higher pay @ $30/hr)
- Assist with setup and breakdown of the cones and signage.
