This Distribution Driver Helper position earns a highly competitive hourly wage of $16 - 17.00/hour, depending on experience. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DISTRIBUTION DRIVER HELPER

As a Driver Helper, your role is invaluable to ensuring our field teams are able to meet customer demand and complete jobs on time. You deliver valuable equipment and building materials to our job sites in the Mid-Atlantic region. With attention to detail, you load against the run sheets and receipts for delivery or pick up. You assist the delivery driver with adhering to all traffic and safety regulations. You ride with delivery driver to deliver building materials from the warehouses to job sites as well as bring new supplies, equipment, and unused materials to the warehouses. Always happy to help, you assist with loading and unloading the truck. You always maintain contact with the Logistics Coordinator to receive the delivery or pick up directions.

Though you love being on the move and have a strong desire to become a delivery driver with a willingness to work toward obtaining your CDL, you appreciate that you never have to be far from home for long. You assist the delivery driver in performing daily and weekly inspections of your truck as required by DOT and company policies. This includes ensuring that all fluids are properly filled as well as that all vehicle instruments, devices, and mechanical operations are working properly. You also safely operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, order pickers, and other equipment. As a team player, you partner with warehouse, supply center, and field workers to get the job done right. You enjoy being on the move and ensuring that construction projects are completed on time!


QUALIFICATIONS FOR A
DISTRIBUTION DRIVER HELPER

  • Willingness or in the process of obtaining Commercial driver's license (A or B is preferred)
  • Good driving record
  • Able to lift up to 75 lbs. repeatedly
  • Willing to help load and unload trucks
  • Able to work out in whatever Mother Nature throws at you
  • Basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills required to manage inventory)
  • Able to read maps and operate GPS systems
  • Able to read and write English fluently
  • Love for driving

DRIVING WORK SCHEDULE

This full-time building materials delivery job typically works Sunday- Thursday 6:00 AM until finished. Though the flexibility to work some overtime, Saturdays, and Sundays is needed, no over the road (OTR) work is required!
