Location Description:

Northfield, Minn. is home to two Post Consumer Brands manufacturing plants, the Campbell Mill and Ames Mill, two distribution centers, and more than 750 team members. The Campbell Mill plant is 1 million square feet and is home to 7 manufacturing technologies to produce a wide variety of cereal products our customers know and love. Northfield is a town steeped in history, featuring two colleges and the original Ames Mill where the Malt-O-Meal Company got its start.

JOB FUNCTION

The purpose of this position is to coordinate the unloading and loading of inbound and outbound loads to ensure outbound shipping schedules are maintained. This position will be the main point of contact with carriers and carrier drivers concerning loads being delivered to and picked up from the warehouse and provide proper load documentation on outbound loads. In addition, in the absence of the Warehouse Manager / Supervisor the incumbent will lend support to the onsite Team Lead for assigned site
Qualifications:
JOB ACTIVITIES/DUTIES

1. Responsible for the on-time loading so that loads will be in a ready to ship status prior to the promised ready to ship time.
2. Coordinate yard activities including spotter driver direction; trailer inventory; and work flow.
3. Provide work direction to warehouse loaders.
4. Assist loading crews – special loading instructions, inventory/load discrepancies.
5. Adjust picks based on changes in information.
6. Print bill of ladings and review for accuracy. Ensure carrier drivers have all required paperwork for load transport. Ensure proper load documentation is stored in PCB systems as required.
7. Communicate with and manage inbound carriers and CPU drivers.
8. Coordinate less than truckload orders. (LTL)
9. Assist in pulling cases from inventory for sales samples picks, aged product sample and noncompliance returns to production facilities.
10. Schedule pick-ups with partial carriers (such as FedEx and/or UPS) to ensure on time delivery to customer.
11. Maintain the loading schedule, trailer list, and short product report. Provide to the management team as needed.
12. Provide back up to the team leads during absences.
13. Maintain dispatch board for accuracy throughout the shift; also perform door check each afternoon or before end of shift.
14. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
15. Work with customer service, transportation, production scheduling, and production to resolve shipment issues.
16. Dispatcher may assist warehouse manager in ordering office and warehouse supplies.
17. Ensure that all company food safety, food security, and quality assurance procedures are followed and documented correctly at all times

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: A high school diploma is required. Post high school training in warehouse /transportation or supply chain functions are preferred.
Experience: Shipping/receiving experience (preferably at Post Consumer Brands); Minimum of six months experience as a loader and/or shipping computer operator (preferably at Post Consumer Brands); experience working in a food production environment; data entry experience; math and problem solving skills and supervisory experience in a warehousing environment.
Skills: Knowledge of physical distribution processes and warehouse management systems; good communication skills; ability to develop, document, and maintain procedures. Demonstrate good business judgment; understanding of economic principles affecting decisions related to warehousing and transportation. Good understanding of material handling, project management, and initiative and follow up. Skills in prioritizing workloads, and stress management. The ability to use technology as a decision support tool. Ability to coordinate and execute activities in a team environment. Must be able to multi task multiple work functions at once.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITY

Work Structure: Reports to and takes work direction from the Warehouse Manager. Also takes work direction from Transportation Planner. Incumbent must determine work priorities and methods to achieve them.

Direct Responsibilities: Responsible for coordinating daily shipping operation for DC site. Operates within Company guidelines/policies, government regulations and the law. Must be somewhat flexible in daily work schedule to accommodate meetings that may occur outside of normal hours.
