Dispatch/Yard Supervisor
Reports To: Division Manager

SUMMARY :

As a Dispatch/Yard Supervisor, you will support field operations by coordinating crews and equipment amongst a portfolio of projects.

Job Duties:

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Coordinate company personnel and equipment of assigned projects to achieve maximum efficiency and profitable use of resources.
  • Correspond with Superintendents/Foremen regarding job orders and forecasted work.
  • Oversee dispatch department with day-to-day operations.
  • Assist with implementation of company safety policies.
  • Maintain various logs using electronic systems as well as local files.
  • Adhere to company procedures, policies and protocols as set forth in the Employee Handbook
  • Demonstrate positive interactions with the public, and positive interpersonal relations in dealing with fellow employees, supervisors, and other department employees, so that productivity and positive employee relations are maximized
  • Support and contribute to effective safety and risk management efforts by adhering to established policies and procedures, maintaining a safe environment, promoting accident prevention, and identifying and reporting potential liabilities
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of all information related to company finances and records
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Excel, Word processing software and inventory software is a must. Ability to learn new programs.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
3-5 years' experience in Supervisory role preferred.
