Easterseals Western and Central Pennsylvania is a non-profit organization providing programs and services to individuals with disabilities. We are celebrating over 100 years of service and are very proud of our history! We currently have an opening for a Program Specialist, Community Participation for our program in Harmarville/Cheswick.
POSITION-Program Specialist, Community Participation
The Program Specialist, Community Participation will be responsible for the implementation, evaluation and documentation of therapeutic programming in the facility and community participation supports settings for the participants in the Adult Day Service program.
QUALIFICATIONS-Program Specialist, Community Participation

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university and 1 year of work experience working directly with individuals with disabilities; or
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 2 years of work experience working directly with individuals with disabilities; or

• Associates degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university and 4 years of work experience working directly with individuals with disabilities.
• Current valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and acceptable driving record obtained through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation required.
• Acceptable Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Clearance required. Department of Aging FBI Clearance required if not a continuous resident of PA for three years prior to employment with Easterseals.
• Passing of physical examination and TB required.

Note: a copy of the degree or college transcripts must be provided and retained in the personnel file per regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES-Program Specialist, CP

• Build and maintain relationships with community partners. Provide opportunities for individuals to develop hobbies or leisure/cultural interests or that promote personal health and wellness.

• Develop community inclusion activities. Increase the individual’s opportunity to build connections/social networks within their local community. Activities include participation in community activities, groups, associations or clubs.

• Facilitate individual choice. Facilitate the member in making choices to develop and sustain a range of valued social roles and relationships. Facilitate the building of natural supports, increasing independence and experiencing meaningful community participation and inclusion.

• Participate in the development of participants goals and outcomes.

BENEFITS
This full-time exempt position is 40 hours per week and with comes with health, dental, vision, and ancillary insurances, paid time off and eligibility for our retirement plan. The package is valued at 6k. The annual rate is $35,360.
