Director of Programs - Out of School Time

Catholic Urban Programs transform lives, and we are seeking a dynamic and creative individual to lead this transformative work at our Out of School Time Program, The Griffin Center. CUP operates after school and summer programming on six of the East St. Louis

Public Housing Developments. Griffin Center is an energetic program full of life. The successful candidate must be energetic, and a servant leader. The Director of

Programs must be a skilled change agent and able to think strategically. The OSTP

Director of Programs reports to the Executive Director and have supervisory responsibility for the OSTP-Griffin Center Management Team.

Responsibilities:

Programs:

  • Design, Implement and Manage high quality and innovative academic and social emotional programs/activities.
  • Design parent engagement activities and work collaboratively with HUB staff to ensure families connectivity to basic needs resources.
  • Work collaboratively with community partners and providers to identify and implement programming that reinforces program goals/objectives.
  • Foster and manage relationships with East St. Louis Housing Authority,
  • Evaluate all programs in collaboration with program staff, program committee of Board of Directors to ensure effectiveness, quality and mission alignment.

Staff Development:

  • Supervise, train, mentor, coach and manage all staff and volunteers.
  • Participate in recruiting, hiring, training and supervision of program staff.
  • Facilitate staff training and staff meetings to ensure quality programming and
  • coordination.

Administration and Program Quality:

  • Assist with the administering of student, parent and community partner surveys.
  • Analyze various data to make program adjustments and improvements.
  • Oversee data collection and data entry into the Apricot client database
  • Approve all program related expenses
  • Assist with grant writing and grant reporting

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to plan and prioritize multiple projects while being adaptable in a constantly changing environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of positive youth development principles.
  • Strong computer skills, must have the ability to track data and produce reports
  • Ability to problem solve and quickly adapt when needed.
  • Excellent communication skills: work effectively as a team (communicate with others, resolve conflicts, and offer solutions to problems).
  • Ability to pass background screenings and child protection training.

Education/Experience Prerequisites:

  • Master’s degree preferred in education, social work, or nonprofit leadership.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in developing and implementing youth academic and social emotional programs.
  • Experience working with high-risk youth and families living in impoverished communities.
  • 3 to 5 years required of supervisory and leadership experience.

Pay: $43,795.66 - $52,743.17 per year
