Crisis & Counseling Centers is a collaborative and comprehensive behavioral health agency operating in Central Maine. Since its founding 52 years ago, Crisis & Counseling Centers has become one of the most trusted behavioral health agencies in Maine, with approximately 120 employees located across several facilities and numerous community-based settings statewide.

We are currently seeking a dynamic and innovative clinician to fill the role of Crisis Director. This position combines clinical work with leading a well-trained, qualified residential and mobile crisis team. The qualified applicant should possess a strong clinical and managerial skills, effective program development implementation, as well as a passion for helping people with immediate behavioral health needs.

The main function of this position is to plan, develop and implement the day-to-day operations of all functional areas of the Crisis Program ensuring consistency with agency policies and procedures and generally accepted clinical, fiscal, and administrative management practices.

The ideal candidate would:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Crisis Program.
  • Oversee staff development plan for the Crisis Program and coordinate with agency training schedule.
  • Direct the resolution of complaints and grievances within the Crisis Program.
  • Provide weekly supervision to CSU and Triage staff.
  • Review and diagnose Triage and CSU assessments.
  • Oversee Crisis Program’s tracking system for maintaining up to date information for quality assurance and review.
  • Facilitate regularly scheduled Crisis Management meetings.
  • Attend meetings and maintains liaisons with DHHS, law enforcement, schools, and other agencies in the community to manage Crisis Program.
  • Ensure accurate, timely transmission of service data to the billing office.
  • Develop a system for monitoring Crisis Program budget.
  • Monitor fiscal tracking results to ensure viability of program, curtailing services or expanding services as appropriate.
  • Assist with expanding agency funding sources.
  • Monitor progress, implementation and compliance of existing Crisis Program contracts.
  • Meet agency contractual obligations.
  • Assist with agency strategic planning based on research of community needs and funding availability.
  • Assist with development and implementation of annual fundraising planning and budgeting.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in a social service field.
  • Licensure at LCSW or LCPC level.
  • Five years of experience in a mental health setting.
  • Three years of direct crisis experience preferred.
  • Management and supervisory experience.
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team.

Covid-19:

In order to mitigate risk of Covid-19 coming into our facility and to ensure the safety of our clients and staff, the Covid-19 vaccination is required for this position.

Hours:

This is an exempt level position and will need to participate in clinical on-call rotation to support Mobile Triage; flexibility for both evening and weekend work is required.

Location:

This position will be based out of our main office, located in Augusta, ME.

Pay rate:

This is a salary position and the pay starts at $68,000-$73,000 / year.
