The Creative Services Specialist is responsible for creative development of design concepts across multiple mediums and channels, including print, digital, video, photography and social media.

RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:

The Creative Services Specialist is responsible for creative development of design concepts across multiple mediums and channels, including print, digital, video, photography and social media. The ability to think strategically and execute creative projects with technical knowledge of print and digital design as well as solid experience with printing processes and production standards.

As part of the brand management team, the Creative Services Specialist will collaborate with the brand management, performance marketing and marketing operations teams and other key stakeholders to ensure brand consistency and best practices. The specialist will work closely with the brand management team to ensure integrity of the Goodwill brand is upheld, as well as to innovate design concepts and provide solutions for execution aligned to business goals.

The Creative Services Specialist will have the ability to lead projects from concept to completion with a knowledge of methods, procedures, techniques and mediums available for visual and creative design. A strong ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines is required for this role. Must possess solid attention to detail while maintaining the ability to think strategically and critically, aligning actions and ideas with others, and present design to stakeholders sharing context on best practices and intentional design decisions.

Implements organization’s goals, may provide input into strategic goals for Marketing. Conducts research, evaluates data, and reports on findings, supporting the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and programs. Has familiarity with the budget, may provide input into spending decisions, particularly as pertains to vendors, systems, and projects. Typically works on projects and initiatives that span 12 months – 2 years.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

1. Develop, recommend, and deliver the creative design vision and framework aligned with business priorities and brand look and feel.

2. Maintain and refresh overall brand guidelines within brand resource center, creating consistency across all creative mediums.

3. Align creative strategies with overall communications and marketing strategy; proactively recommend ways to leverage the creative design to elevate brand messaging.

4. Use strategic thinking to drive engagement of audiences with strong communications graphics, photography, and impactful infographics for use within digital and social media platforms.

5. Provide input on the latest and relevant visual communications and graphic design trends.

6. Develop and deliver presentations to internal partners and leadership on visual communications, strategies, and projects.

7. Advise and contribute to all materials with creative visual and branded components, including advertising, digital, marketing, print, social media, video, etc. This includes videos, logos, infographics, special events invitations, marketing collateral materials, digital posters, displays, print and digital ads, among others.

8. Oversee creative design projects from inception to completion in partnership with project management and colleagues.

9. Ensure ability to transition projects across print and digital platforms.

10. Manage creative design production schedule and align with overall editorial calendar.

11. Engage and manage freelance design vendors when necessary, oversee and provide direction to vendors. Identify, contract, and liaise with creative design vendors and freelancers.

12. Recommend and oversee other design and production resources to meet deadlines.

13. Leading and Developing Talent: May partner with coworkers to advance their development.

14. Project and Change Management: May serve as a team member, or subject matter expert, for formal or department projects. Contributes ideas and helps develop solutions, while balancing demands of project work and routine job responsibilities. Engages effectively in change affecting her/him, communicating appropriately with supervisor. Follows through on learning, skill building, and practice necessary to adapt to change.

15. Problem Solving: Light supervision; works independently. Periodic review of work by manager or direct customer. Researches, analyzes, and evaluates situations and reports on findings. Solves advanced problems.

16. Technical Skill: Advanced knowledge of professional principles and skills. Comprehensive knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of particular field of specialization.

17. Community Engagement: Champions Goodwill’s community engagement initiatives. Aware of Goodwill’s community partner organizational and participates in volunteer opportunities as pertains to role and interest. Participates in industry/knowledge groups.

18. Responsible for completing other job responsibilities/duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Two years of college education or experience equivalency, and a minimum of 5 years’ experience required. Bachelor's Degree in fine arts, graphic design, or related field preferred.

2. Must have portfolio of work.

3. Must have corporate and/or agency experience.

4. Advanced knowledge of the complete Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator) and Microsoft Office Suite.

5. Demonstrated knowledge of HTML, CSS and media skills.

6. Packaging, print production, typesetting and photography experience preferred.

7. Knowledge of project management, quality assurance and control, color editing, photo editing, saving and scaling files in various formats necessary for printing production and execution.
