The Opportunity:
As Director of Technology Operations, you will develop and drive the IT strategy of continuous improvement through standardized controls, incorporating industry best practices. In partnership with senior leadership and all levels of management, you will establish and grow a repeatable model that advances operational scalability and stability:

1. Evaluate adherence to industry best practices for tools, processes, services, and ownership.
2. Assess the operational risk of IT controls.
3. Prescribe solutions and design controls to close gaps and strengthen IT operations.
4. Govern the adoption of controls by the matrix organization.
5. Build a feedback loop, with metrics and internal/external stakeholder input, to enhance controls.

This role will focus on areas that include but are not limited to:

1. Controls Testing and Artifacts
2. Access Management, Including Entitlement Reviews
3. IT Service Management
4. IT Asset Management
5. Knowledge Management
6. Fulfillment of Customer/Vendor Requirements and SLAs
7. Capital Investment (Examples: Tooling; Automation; Buy/Build Decisions)
8. M&A

Essential Job Functions
  • In partnership with Security and Compliance functions, create and lead a program-level playbook and governance structure for IT operations, including risk mitigation and investment in controls
  • Develop and implement an assessment model of IT operations to identify control gaps and enhancements to tools and processes, applying industry best practices.
  • Develop and implement policies and standards to govern IT operations.
  • Develop and implement methods to monitor the operating effectiveness of IT operations.
  • Lead matrix adoption of corrective actions and enhancements to IT tools and processes.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement through employee education and awareness and internal/external stakeholder engagement.
Other Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • 7+ years of experience with leading matrix teams in an enterprise environment.
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in the healthcare industry.
  • 5+ years of experience with IT Service Management.
  • 5+ years of experience with HITRUST, SSAE 18, or other control frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability for strategy development, and solution planning, analysis, and delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs from initiation to closure, with impact across multiple business units, functional areas, services, markets, customers/vendors, and/or locations.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership and all levels of management.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and govern policies and standards.
