What does a Die Cast Set-Up Technician do?

• Develop standard work methods and maintain instructions for cell, including die cast machine operation, tooling set ups, component changes, etc.
• Assist cell members by answering work-related questions, resolving operating difficulties and reviewing completed work assignments.
• Audit cell members to standard work instructions and correct performance as needed.
• Audit and report correctness or work serving the cell such as tooling setups, repairs, etc.
• Monitor ongoing operations.
• Set up, adjust and monitor automation of cell.
• Ensure cell members are following safety requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve abnormal conditions involving tooling, process, materials, equipment and part specification. Document occurrence and resolution of abnormalities.
• Inspect parts.
• Communicate quality concerns that have been reported.
• Track and analyze key performance indicators for cell.
• Lead 8-step problem solving activities with cell members.
• Complete required paperwork on a timely basis, including event logs, checklists, work orders, audits, accident reports, etc.
• Repair, assemble, set up and operate various die casting machines.

Compensation: $20.00

Shift: 1st - 7:00am to 3:00pm

• Must be able to physically lift up to 50lbs repetitively
• Must be able to constantly stand, bend and twist for the longevity of the shift
• Must be able to effectively communicate with coworkers and management
• Visually inspect product and equipment
• Respond to audio prompts

Basic Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Must be able to pass a drug screen
• High school diploma or equivalent and/or vocational certification from a technical college OR 4-5 years of on-the-job training as a die cast operator (or similar position).
• Some experience in die cast set up and operation of a die cast machine.
• Reads, writes and speaks English. Bilingual is a plus.
• Basic math skills, including arithmetic.
• Computer literate.
