We have a great job opportunity through Robert Half Technology for a Desktop Support Engineer who has the desire to work in the Bio Tech Industry. This Destop Support Engineer Opportunity is a long term onsite contract opportunity in Emeryville, Ca. This Desktop Support Engineer will play an integral part in supporting the IT infrastructure and will be responsible for all end user IT support, revolving around both hardware and software related problems. The Desktop Support Engineer must be capable of accurately and consistently logging all problems and initiate an incident ticket to track calls, problems and dispositions. Additionally, the Desktop Support Engineer will be responsible for open issue follow-up to ensure adequate resolution and customer satisfaction on software issues and installation of replacement hardware components. This is a long-term contract opportunity with the potential to go full time.

Your responsibilities in this role
Provide technical support for desktop/computer definition, purchase, configuration, installation, maintenance, and upgrades of computer hardware.

Troubleshoot and Configure:
Wi-Fi Connectivity
SCCM support
Build/Deploy laptops and desktops in a domain environment
General network connectivity, file access
Active Directory account creation and password resets
Phone system support (VoIP)
Provides day to day desktop support to user community
Accountable for the development and technical support of day to day desktop, network, printing, etc.
Software license management
Computer and network system maintenance and support

The Windows Desktop Support Engineer will have intermediate experience with Windows support, basic networking knowledge, computer hardware repair experience, VOIP phone knowledge, experience with Active Directory and experience troubleshooting applications.
2-3 years supporting in an enterprise environment required.
Ability to systematically isolate issues, test solutions, and understand the root cause of the fix and why the original problem occurred.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently.
Knowledge of Deployment Automation.
Solid understanding of Microsoft SCCM.
Experience building images from Scratch is required.
You'll be a good fit for this position if you have experience with virtualization and containerization.
You'll be a good fit for this position if you have solid scripting skills.
Candidates with proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting various operating systems will be the best fit for this position.
This position requires a candidate with solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks.
This position requires a candidate with experience with monitoring system.
