About us

Located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Phoenix Chinese Dance Academy (PhoenixChineseDance.org) strives to promote Chinese dance as an important window to display Chinese culture and art. Our dancers come from various backgrounds with a wide range of ages. They continue to pursue new artistic heights and forms of artistic expression through our teaching programs, and show the beauty of Chinese dance through production shows, recitals, outreach, and community events.

We're looking for a creative and energetic professional who can systematically teach Chinese dance for a dynamic group of students from beginner level to adults, ensuring that all students are engaged, motivated, and inspired to grow through dance training. Our ideal candidate will have experience with from children to adults and will work well with others.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement dance teaching curriculums for students of different skill levels and ages
• Choreograph and restage dances
• Assist the Principal and Artistic Director to complete various community performances, recitals, and annual production shows
• Evaluate student performance and make recommendations for improvement; encourage and motivate students to reach their goals
• Conduct group and private lessons as required
• Maintain a fun, creative, and respectful environment
• Keep up to date in your discipline and improve the dance curriculum as needed
• Know safety rules for teaching in a studio setting.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or higher degree in dance or qualification from an accredited college
• Solid teaching experience
• Experience as leading dancer in professional troupe preferred
• Choreography experience desired
• Excellent communication skills in both Chinese and English languages.
• Energetic, driven, creative, and dependable
• Excellent personal and leadership skills

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• After school
• Evening shift

Supplemental pay types:

• Commission pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Minneapolis-Saint Paul, MN: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Education:

• Bachelor's (Required)

Experience:
