The pay range listed above reflects the FULL pay range for this position. Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. The position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

About the Position
The Courtroom Services Supervisor - Training assists with the development, implementation, and supervision of Non-Criminal Courtroom Services orientation, training, and ongoing cross-training of non-criminal courtroom clerks. This training will cover memorializing court proceedings for the court and litigants, receiving, marking, and managing evidence for courtroom use, filing court documents, and swearing witnesses appearing in court. This position will supervise Courtroom Services training leads and new courtroom clerks during onboarding as needed. The Supervisor creates and maintains all pertinent training and supervisory records, including performance evaluations.

We Require
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Four years of administrative experience in a court or legal environment
  • One year of experience providing on-the-job training
  • Arizona driver’s license required upon hire
  • Selected candidate must successfully complete and pass a criminal background check
We Also Value
  • Bachelor's degree in Pre-Law, Communications, Education, Public Relations, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Prior experience serving in a lead and/or supervisor capacity.
  • Experience working in a court environment.
Job Contributions
  • Develop curricula and materials, prepare, and implement training programs for a designated judicial function of the Clerk's Office; perform comprehensive training program needs assessments and evaluates the effectiveness of departmental policies and procedures while recommending and implementing revisions as needed
  • Supervise and support training CRS leads to ensure the training of courtroom clerks
  • Responsible for training and preparing new hires for court coverage to ensure all courts have a capable courtroom clerk present for hearings
  • Facilitate the training in the processing and completion of division paperwork
  • Assist with the hiring process of training leads and courtroom clerks, overseeing new employee orientation and onboarding of training leads and new courtroom clerks
  • Establish and maintain professional, effective working relationships with peers, employees, supervisors as well as representatives from other agencies and the public
  • Interpret statutes, court rules, and court procedures and develops policies and procedures to maintain compliance with the same; communicate and coordinate to implement procedural changes with courtroom clerk staff, judicial staff, internal and external departments, and agencies
  • Resolve non-routine issues and/or situations that arise on a daily basis; perform research and make difficult decisions due to the complexity or uniqueness of the situation or request
  • Work with senior management on projects that contribute to the goals and objectives set forth in the mission, vision, and value statement of the Clerk's Office including compiling and analyzing statistical information used for project planning, resource management, and budget projections
  • Display proficiency in multiple non-criminal case types and most calendars while maintaining the ability to expand case type and calendar knowledge
Working Conditions:
  • Mostly office environment
  • Requires long periods of sitting
  • Ability to travel to and from various job-related locations during the course of a scheduled workday, subject to County policies regarding the use of County vehicles and/or private vehicles used on County business
