Cosmetology Career Technical Perry High School August 2023 CTE Licensure or Alternative

Program Instructor Resident Educator

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must hold a valid teaching license in the Career Technical Cosmetology pathway, or meet the industry experience requirements to gain licensure through the Alternative Resident
Educator program

2. Must hold a valid Ohio State Board Advanced Cosmetologist License
3. Must hold a valid Ohio State Board of Cosmetology Instructor License, or meet criteria to secure Instructor license prior to August 2023
4. Must have five or more years of full-time experience in the Cosmetology pathway
5. Must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Rules and Regulations set forth by The Ohio State Board of Cosmetology
6. Must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the written and practical exam for students to obtain licensure
7. Must submit an acceptable background check and complete all required personnel records
8. Must create a customer service atmosphere in a training setting
9. Must have have the ability to manage program’s salon and related customer service events
10. Must possess an ability to communicate and establish partnerships with community businesses and agencies
11. Must establish and lead the program’s Advisory Committee
12. Must seek employment opportunities for students in accordance with their abilities and goals
13. Must work effectively with employers to establish quality career pathways for students
14. Must promote and support student participation in youth organizations, leadership and competitive activities
15. Must assist in planning the management of allocated budget for daily operations
16. Must possess knowledge of standards and demonstrated experience incorporating them into instructional design

17. Must have an ability to plan and design effective learning environments and experiences supported by technology. Must embrace “best practice” instruction, differentiation, and integration of technology in instructional practices

18. Must have an ability to motivate and deal effectively with high school age students
19. Must possess ability to work collaboratively with other staff members, department level teammates, and parents
20. Must be committed to district and building mission statements and improvement initiatives
