Job Description:
- Responsible for communicating and applying quality assurance measures for the Central Service department.
- Collects and analyzes statistical data as it pertains to sterile procedures and assists in corrective action based on analysis.
- Evaluates current and new regulatory criteria for compliance as it applies to industry standards.
- Supports process improvement as a project leader, facilitator, consultant, and analyst to PI projects assigned.
- Utilizes a systems approach by mapping key processes and implementing value stream analysis to reduce waste, inefficiencies and downtime.
- Evaluates current and new regulatory criteria for compliance as it applies to industry standards.
- Utilizes evidence based practice and data to guide improvement efforts.
- Builds strong cross-functional relationships to ensure that all stakeholders are appropriately engaged.

- Responsible for supporting new employee orientation in the Central Service Department, including on-the-job training and documentation of employee competency in sterile processing standards.
- With the assistance of the SPD Educators, identifies any sterile processing employees who may need additional training and arranges work schedules to include this training.
- Keeps the SPD Manager informed of the progress of new employees in a regularly scheduled progress report.
- Conducts and assists with staff in services as needed.
- Accountable for the care and handling of instruments and equipment. Operates sterilization equipment for the proper sterilization of surgical instruments.
- Follows established sterilization policy and procedures.
- Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the principles of sterile processing procedures and infection control.
- Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - A high school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
- Three years of experience in sterile processing.
- Certification as Central Service Technician.
- Experience with computer software.
- Must possess strong leadership skills and the ability to prioritize and delegate assignments.
- The ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
- One plus years experience in Regulatory, Quality or related field preferred.
