Rankin Ranch in Walker Basin is looking for a cook to join our kitchen team. The morning shift is 5:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and the evening shift is 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. We currently building our kitchen team for 2023 and are willing to consider a part time or full time position. Days of the week are flexible.

The ranch is in a remote area between Lake Isabella and Tehachapi. This isn't your average restaurant job! You are joining a team that provides memories that last a lifetime for the families that visit the ranch and delicious meals are certainly a highlight of that experience. We have a set menu for the day that is served buffet style and we know how many guests will be with us for each meal.

Sample Menu...

Breakfast...Fresh Fruit Bowls, Oatmeal, Pancakes and Bacon

Lunch...Spanish Rice, Quesadillas, Steamed Vegetables, Sliced Melon, and Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Dinner...Deep Pit Beef, Potato Wedges, Green Beans, Green Salad, Cornbread, and Chocolate Cake

Responsibilities

*Preparing meals for large groups. *Assisting other kitchen team members with maintaining a clean work space. *Serving guests. *Following all health and safety guidelines

Qualifications

*Proven working experience in a kitchen *Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils *Strong attention to detail *Ability to listen and communicate effectively *Current Serve Safe Food Handlers Certification

Compensation

*Hourly wage + overtime *Tips - Guests contribute to a tip fund which is divided between all ranch staff. This usually equates to several more dollars per hour.

This position would begin in early March. We are a seasonal business that is open from March to October annually. We are looking forward to hearing from you.

Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts all days except Mondays and Fridays. Compensation is $15.50/hour.
