Overview:
The Contracts Manager 1 responsibilities include proposal review, contract preparation, negotiation, and administration, verifying export classification and foreign restrictions, ensuring compliance with the FAR/DFARS, and customer interface to provide for contract award and fulfilment in accordance with company policy.The Contracts Manager must have a deep understanding of contracting methods and contract types used in the U.S. Defense industry gained through training and previous Contract Administration and/or Contract Manager experience. The role reports to the site General Manager and has responsibility for managing multiple direct reports.
Major Position Responsibilities:
  • Reviews, interprets, recommends, and negotiates contractual terms and conditions and interprets established policies, procedures, and standard practices to ensure contract compliance and objectives are met. Creates or updates policies where needed.
  • Reviews solicitations to ensure compliance with the FAR/DFAR including terms and conditions. Works with proposal teams in the planning and execution of new business price proposals, cost narratives, and pricing strategies.
  • Reviews contract awards and contract modifications for conformance to proposal requirements and regulation compliance. Resolves any discrepancies, executes contract renegotiations, acknowledgement, and all associated documentation.
  • Manages Export and International Trafficking in Arms Regulation (ITAR) compliance programs to include review of proposals, contracts and related data for export control requirements and obtains export approvals for product and technical data.
  • Monitors regulatory changes and their impact on contracts / subcontracts, including export considerations.
  • Represents the organization as the primary administrative contact and provides contract administration oversight and management of assigned domestic and international defense supply, production, and research and development contracts.
  • Ensure non-disclosure agreements and contract terms and condition are negotiated within company guidelines.
  • Generates and manages departmental budget.
Basic Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, Accounting, Finance, Legal, or related field
  • 6+ years related Contract Administrator / Contract Manager experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years staff management experience.

Other Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent communication skills. Highly organized, able to prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines.
    Proficient in time management and decision-making.
  • Strong knowledge of government contracts management/procurement processes and procedures including FAR and DFARS. Proficient computer skills, including MS Excel, MS Word and ERP systems
Pay Range (USD): $123,616.63 - $185,424.94 Additional Compensation: Hired applicant may be eligible to participate in the Company’s Gain Sharing Program.
