Construction Superintendent – Bolton Landing, NY and Surrounding Areas

We are seeking to employ a Construction Superintendent who has custom home as well as some commercial project experience in the Bolton Landing, NY area.

C. Raymond Davis & Sons, a high-end custom home builder located on the shores of Lake George, NY, is seeking to add several positions to our growing team. You will work in a casual work environment in a beautiful office in Bolton Landing, which has been our base for building high-quality custom homes throughout the Adirondack region for over ten years. In this exciting role, your responsibilities will be:

• Supervise all on-site construction, including scheduling subcontractors, resolving day-to-day problems on the job site, and inspecting all work during construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
• Direct the work flow consistent with the project schedule and assign tasks in a proper sequence so that work is completed safely, and efficiently.
• Ability to work independently, multi-task, and “think on your feet.”
• Coordinate with the Project Manager to set up and monitor the construction schedule.
• Work well with all people on the construction team, and supervise multiple crews on multiple project sites.
• Use forward thinking to predict issues and offer/create solutions quickly and efficiently.
• Establish and maintain good relations with Owners; proactively communicating deadlines, expectations and critical issues with clients and have a clear understanding of the contractual obligations between C. Raymond Davis and our clients.
• Attention to detail and daily monitoring of work in progress to ensure completeness and that the work measures up with C. Raymond Davis’ quality standards.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and shall be familiar with building codes and standards.
• Manage the punch list and closeout process through owner/architect acceptance.
• Daily reporting of job progress, deficiencies, and issues that arise.
• Coordinate and arrange for permits and required inspections as work progresses.
• Maintain good working relationships with all subcontractors on the project, ensure subcontractors are treated fairly, and develop relationships within the community which enhances business opportunities.
• Take responsibility to ensure a safe and injury-free work site. Promote safe work habits and recognize hazardous working conditions and correct them immediately. Assist with incident reporting and completion of required reports.
• Assist Project Manager in coordination with Property Manager/Owner Representative in pursuing and completing all initial warranty work.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager on the creation and execution of a project specific Project Close-out Plan.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years as a Construction Superintendent or related field
• Experience overseeing construction projects budgeted from $1-10 million
• Possess strong initiative and effective organizational skills.
• Attention to detail, and ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
• Ability to establish and maintain rapports and interact with various levels of professionals.
• Position may include working outside of normal working hours as necessary.
• Ability to travel to construction sites as needed to oversee crew and projects, 50+% travel.
• Must be willing to work in a construction environment that includes: potential exposure to dust, noise, toxic materials, waste materials, as well as working in inclement weather conditions.
• Demonstrated experience working with MS Project & Office Suite to include Word, Excel, and Outlook.
