Pay Range

  • $72,480 - $93,864 Annual (E01.1)
  • $86,910 - $112,584 Annual (E01.2)

Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. Many factors are taken into consideration when setting starting pay including education, experience, the external labor market, and internal equity.

Job Description

We have an opening for a Construction Coordinator to support the Construction Management Division. The selected candidate will work closely with our Construction Management team to achieve various project goals and objectives and will perform various tasks, like maintaining project budgets and documentation, along with various administrative duties. We are looking for someone with excellent time management and communication skills, as they will be collaborating with clients and internal teams to deliver results on deadlines. This position is in LLNL’s Project Management Office (PMO).

This position will be filled at either the E01.1 or E01.2 level based on skills, knowledge, and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if selected at the higher level.

In this role you will

  • Participate in a key role with Construction Managers, and other key stakeholders including Project Managers, Design Team, ES&H, and clients, to facilitate activities and ensure safe and timely completion of construction projects.
  • Utilize knowledge of construction management to aid and participate in the development and implementation of new techniques and procedures to improve construction management processes and provide recommendations to ensure quality is maintained.
  • Assist with budget and schedule tracking and provide construction project updates and reporting to key stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Facilitate time critical safety document approval process with key stakeholders.
  • Interact with LLNL Supply Chain Management to research and gather information to formulate and define scope of work for procurement packages in support of construction projects.
  • Research and gather information, and develop budget, duration, scope, and justification to be used in complex construction reporting documentation, audits, and presentations to Division, Department, and Directorate senior management.
  • Independently address areas of concern with appropriate follow up to Construction Manager or Division Leader.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

In addition, at the E01.2 level

  • Independently address areas of concern with appropriate follow up to Construction Managers or Construction Coordinator Lead.
  • Conduct assessments of current processes and identify improvement opportunities and participate in defining, automating, and improving new and existing business processes and workflows.

Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Associates Degree in relevant functional discipline or the equivalent combination of education and/or related experience.
  • Experience in a fast-paced construction, facility, or project management environment and knowledge of construction industry safety procedures, i.e., OSHA guidelines.
  • Experience gathering, analyzing, evaluating, and interpreting data including budget and schedule tracking and communicating project status with stakeholders.
  • Experienced communication skills verbal, written and interpersonal skills necessary to effectively collaborate within a team environment.
  • Experience planning own work and prioritizing tasks.
  • Strong computer skills using related software for spreadsheets, word processing, and presentations.
  • Experience facilitating functional business processes by providing a clear understanding and communicating expectations.

In addition, at the E01.2 level

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant functional discipline or the equivalent combination of education and/or related experience.Extensive experience using Microsoft Office tools for spreadsheets, word processing, dashboards, and graphics necessary in developing and implementing specialized presentations and reports.
  • Extensive problem solving and decision-making skills to anticipate, identify, and independently recommend appropriate actions and solutions to complex problems.
  • Extensive experience using Microsoft Office tools for spreadsheets, word processing, dashboards, and graphics necessary in developing and implementing specialized presentations and reports.

Qualifications We Desire

  • Working knowledge of construction projects, operations, and terminology.
  • Understanding of procurement processes.
