This is a hybrid position with 3 days/month spent in one of our office locations (New Hartford, NY; Woodbury, NY; Duluth, GA).

Essential Functions:

• Investigating and handling primarily New York General Liability claims of a complex and serious nature.
• Performing special claims investigation and handling matters requiring broad technical claims knowledge.
• Ability to determine coverage and draft coverage letters.
• Operating on an independent basis with little supervision.
• Settling claims within assigned authority.
• Numerous contact with attorneys concerning serious claim matters.
• Handling of litigated matters.
• Reviewing court decisions, law and coverage interpretations. Broad knowledge and understanding of the law and claims practices.
• May assume duties of the Claims Supervisor in the Supervisor's absence.

Education:

• 4-year degree or equivalent experience.

Experience:

• 5 years or more claims handling experience.
• Knowledge of New York Labor Law preferred.
• Active licenses in FL, NC, SC, and TX preferred.
• Multi-state claims handling experience including primarily NY and TX, GA, and FL preferred.

Salary range: $72,200-$108,200

The final salary to be paid and position within the internal salary range is reflective of the employee’s work experience, their geographic location, education, certification(s), scope and responsibilities in the role, and additional qualifications.

Additional Information:

This position is a full time salaried, exempt (non overtime eligible) position.
