JOB DETAILS:

The Commercial finance director is responsible for leading financial analysis for Iron Mountain’s Global Functions and will act as the finance business partner in Asset Life Management (ALM) with the upstream sales VP. Iron Mountain's ALM business is a global enterprise that operates in approximately 60 countries with over ~$0.5 billion in annual revenues with an ambitious drive and plans to be a billion dollar business in next couple of years. This role will lead the upstream performance insights and analysis, simplifying and streamlining the upstream business process, as well as create the integrated end-to-end performance analysis by linking upstream financial information with the ops as well as downstream information to ensure max value is created from the upstream to drive business growth. The commercial finance director is a key member of the ALM and Global Functions Finance team and Global Business Services leadership team.

The role requires the ability to understand and apply specific business knowledge in an effort to anticipate potential problems and force timely resolutions. Additionally, this position requires frequent interaction with business line Executives and Operational management, therefore strong presentation and communication skills are necessary. This position will need to resolve complex issues, as well as provide guidance and advice to the business around various growth (organic and acquired) and cost savings strategies. Management responsibilities include leading a team of three to four resources, and informally influencing across FP&A teams in four regions and multiple product lines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Partner with Upstream Leaders, other functional leaders, and Regional / Product line finance leadership to drive profitable growth and continuous improvement.
  • Build a high performance culture with the capabilities to deliver analytics that ensure key business performance risk, issues, and opportunities are highlighted to management. Position Finance team to influence these areas.
  • Work closely with sales operations and upstream on forecasting and MYP preparations for high accuracy and transparency
  • Finance partner with the upstream team on hyperscale and enterprise agreements and work out the finance processes (billing, currencies, business operation capability, license, transfer pricing) by being involved in the deal structure at early stage
  • Oversee sales commission accruals by working closely with commercial and accounting team in establishing a robust sales commission process from KPI and target setting, sales commission calculation, and commission verification for both Enterprise and Hyperscale business
  • Provide accurate and timely assessment of actual vs. budget results, with focus on variance analysis and action- oriented insights. Mitigate risks and execute opportunities stemming from analysis.
  • Frame and implement with teams the annual Multi-Year Planning and budget processes, including timely rollup and presentation of the overall business plans.
  • Support efficient capital allocation and cash management though influence of GBS-led processes and analysis of working capital
  • Partner with Corporate control, accounting, and GBS team on production and maintenance of standard recurring reporting for Finance business partners to leverage
  • Connect non-Financial leading indicators to pace expected financial results and direct functions to manage costs accordingly
  • Provide strategic financial and operational analysis to help ALM management team to make informed decisions regarding direction of business
  • Develop, implement and report key financial metrics throughout the organization
  • Support growth in Iron Mountain’s GBS strategy and implementation of performance management routines for GBS functions
  • Lead cross-functional / cross-divisional projects and programs both business and finance
  • Support new business evaluation by assessing potential channel partnership opportunities
  • Recruit, train, manage, and develop domestic and international teams as the ALM business expands

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; MBA a strong plus

15-20+ years of progressive financial experience focused on providing budget, forecast and business analysis support within a large, global corporation; ideally gained thorough performing a mix of Corporate, Business Unit and Operational Finance roles and working in a matrixed environment

Experience leading teams and developing talent

Develop a team that is highly competent, business-minded, growth oriented, diverse and inclusive, and motivated.

Advanced proficiency in Oracle enterprise management applications or equivalent, presentation building and reporting

Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills strongly preferred.

Strong analytical skills needed to synthesize large quantities of data, identify trends and drivers, and distill them into insightful analysis for senior management.

Passion for driving and delivering results to provide valuable performance analysis and reporting on a timely basis to help facilitate decision making

Act as an advocate and role model for understanding cost drivers and cost control.

Reasonably expected salary range: $129,300.00 - $172,300.00
