SUMMARY
A Commercial Credit Fellow is an active participant of a 4-month program offering entry level applicants opportunities to be immersed in an array of banking initiatives, preparing them for a Commercial Banking career path focus. Upon successful program completion, Fellows will graduate into the Portfolio Specialist I role.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree required, with a minimum 3.0+ GPA preferred (or equivalent professional experience) in any of the following fields: Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Leadership; with successful completion of Micro and Macroeconomics coursework in the aforementioned degrees.
- General knowledge of the Financial Services Industry.
- Must exhibit excellent observation and possess strong analytical skills to suit the role of a Fellow.
- Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written, one-on-one and in groups.
- Ability to develop and maintain a cohesive and cooperative working relationship with co-workers.
- Must allocate time effectively and independently prioritize workload to meet timelines.
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Interaction and shadowing across various bank departments, providing understanding of core principles of credit, commercial lending, financial & credit analysis, credit risk management, underwriting and portfolio management.
- Participation in all required program and compliance training, including Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering training, as well as internal and external training programs, online training, meetings, and seminars/conferences, etc. within and after the program.
- Involvement in projects or assignments as designed by program facilitators to empower and encourage continuous learning, critical thinking, and career growth.
- Other duties as assigned.
