POSITION DESCRIPTION

Department: Clinic Administration/CRP Clinics



Position Purpose:
The Clinic LPN functions under the supervision of the physician and/or provider in providing direct patient care activities, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with the Missouri State Practice Act, policies, procedures and standards of Capital Region Medical Center-Clinic system. This position is expected to unceasingly lead the creation of an environment that is focused on patient-centered care, and embracing the tenants of the Better Every Day culture.



Principal Accountabilities:

  • Working at the top of their licensure, the Clinic LPN demonstrates appropriate assessment of the patient in the clinic to provide optimal level of wellness.
  • Documents interventions accurately and appropriately in accordance to Capital Region Medical Center’s clinic standards.
  • Demonstrates and implements a refined, intense and high level of clinical expertise in the medical area employed.
  • Identifies and reports patient problems and documents in accordance to policy.
  • Establishes priorities for nursing actions in a logical sequence to meet patient needs.
  • Implements patient care according to the physician and/or provider order to attain the patient’s optimal level of function and documents according to policy.
  • Obtains, clarifies and reviews physician and/or provider orders and takes appropriate action in a timely manner.
  • Administers medications and treatment in accordance to policy.
  • Provides patient and family education and documents appropriately.
  • Evaluates patient status in relation to established goals and desired outcome.
  • Communicates with appropriate members of the health care team to assure patient needs are being met.
  • Participates in clinical pertinence review and evaluation; and assures the clinic quality improvement indicator thresholds are achieved.
  • Demonstrates customer relations as high priority in line with Capital Region Medical Center’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Shows concern and respect for others by dealing with the people in a compassionate, sensitive, and responsive manner.
  • Adaptable to individual situations and changing work demands, team player – owns job and projects.
  • Demonstrates ability to organize and complete work duties in a timely manner.
  • Keeps customers informed, communicates clearly, and is knowledgeable.

Education Requirements: High School plus specialized training (See below) Education Preference: High School plus specialized training (See below)
Specific Field of Study: Nursing
Minimum Experience Requirements: No Experience
Minimum Experience Preferences: 3 months to 1 year Technical Experience.
Additional Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Basic computer skills
Minimum License/Certification Requirements: Licensed Practical Nurse
Unique Working Conditions: Chemicals or Hazardous Material/Waste handled or present
Specialty Equipment Required to Operate: Laboratory/Diagnostic/Therapeutic Equipment specific to clinic
