CoCreativ is a private equity-backed marketing services company that provides digital content creation to support digital commerce. The company is a holding of 3 entities: a Creative Agency, a B2B SaaS platform and a Studio/Equipment rental network. With a strong leadership team and an entrepreneurial culture of growth, the company supports many of the world’s leading brands.

We are looking for a CFO with experience in the business services sector, with a preference for experience in marketing and production services. This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer with additional significant interaction with the Board of Directors and Private Equity Partners.

This position is hybrid working from our headquarters in Tribeca (3 days at the office).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a key member of the Executive Management team, the Chief Financial Officer will report to the CEO and assume an important role in the overall management of the company. This leader will oversee all aspects of finance from the strategic to the operational. Specifically, he/she will:

  • Elevate the finance function so that it adds value above-and-beyond accurate and timely financial reporting. Through a keen understanding of the business and the complex and evolving market trends impacting it, develop a sophisticated finance strategy to proactively ensure continual growth, mitigate risk and capitalize on opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Accurately forecast business results and lead cash management.
  • Become a trusted advisor to the Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors and Private Equity Partners.
  • Maintain and/or improve upon the current high quality relating to the fundamentals of accounting, treasury, financial controls and financial reporting.
  • Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) most important to the success of this business.
  • Identify all the business processes involved in these KPI’s and ensure the necessary IT and manual systems are in place to accurately monitor them.
  • Ensure results are communicated in a timely and transparent way to relevant business leaders and that the results continually shape the strategy and planning of the business at large.
  • Contribute to the growth of the company
  • Collaborate with the CEO to establish forecasting tools to assist with business planning and decision making.
  • Build and retain a high-performing finance team through the attraction, evaluation, training, and development of financial top quality talent.
  • Provide accurate financial statements for both management use, as well as reporting.
  • Drive and accelerate the monthly closing process.
  • Leverage and enhance relationships within the investment community.
  • Manage relationships with third party lenders and ensure covenant compliance.
  • Monitor regulations and ensure compliance of financial policies and practices are in accordance with federal, state industry regulations and guidelines; manage any required government agencies.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of 10 years senior finance leadership roles with at least 5 of those years as CFO or VP of Finance over a company.
  • Experience in a CFO or SVP of Finance role with at least one private equity-backed company; a very strong preference for those who have led through one or more private equity exits.
  • A CFO or SVP of Finance of a highly acquisitive non-private equity-backed company will be considered but private equity experience is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience senior finance leadership experience in business services, with a preference for experience in marketing services.
  • Familiarity with the skills and inputs of digital marketing strategy and production preferred.
  • Deep financial planning & analysis (FP&A) experience, with strengths in reporting, forecasting, modeling, and deep-dive business analyses; preferably with a stint as the leader of FP&A reporting to a Chief Financial Officer.
  • Able to drive the audit process and complete it on time/within budget.
  • Able to be a thought-leader on the tax side that enable us to minimize our tax bill within the confines of our unique corporate structure.
  • Familiar with the dynamically evolving digital commerce environment, particularly e-commerce, social media and new media platforms which the company supports.
  • Experience negotiating high value, complex service agreements and contracts with leading clients.
  • Strategic collaborator with the CEO with a deep mastery of core financial concepts, including accounting, cash management, profitability analysis, revenue recognition, financial modeling, treasury, and forecasting, balanced with sound business judgment.
  • Both familiar with and able to answer the types of questions lenders usually ask.
  • Inside-out knowledge of credit agreements and ability to play a leadership role in any refinancing event or unforeseen covenant challenge.
  • Respected representative of the company with the board, lenders and equity investors.
  • Experience identifying and tracking most important Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and utilizing the data to drive future strategy.
  • Successful track record of driving growth through back office automation, process discipline and standardization.
  • Early career experience in public accounting with a top tier firm is preferable.
  • Ability to develop strong, collaborative, performance-focused teams committed to delivering consistent results.
  • A champion for ethical business practices in all things.
  • Experience with NetSuite
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • MBA preferred
  • CPA desired.

Benefits

The base salary for this position is $200,000-$250,000. These numbers represent the low and high end of our salary range for this position. Salaries will vary depending on various factors which include, but are not limited to location, education, skills, experience and performance. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees.
