Certified Public Accountant - Private Equity Real Estate Position Overview:

Unified Business Alliance (UBA) is seeking a highly skilled Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with substantial experience in the private equity real estate industry to join our dynamic team. As a CPA with private equity experience, you will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, conducting audits, and providing strategic financial advice to ensure optimal performance and compliance within our private equity firm. Your expertise will contribute to the growth and success of our organization while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting and Analysis:
    • Prepare and analyze financial statements including schedule of investments (SOI), balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Perform in-depth financial analysis to assess investment performance, profitability, and liquidity.
    • Generate accurate financial reports and provide meaningful insights to aid decision-making processes.
  • Audit and Compliance:
    • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and internal policies.
    • Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies to facilitate smooth audits and maintain compliance.
    • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard financial data and mitigate risk.
  • Fund Accounting:
    • Manage and reconcile complex investment portfolios and funds.
    • Perform fund valuations, including the assessment of fair value calculations and investor allocations.
    • Monitor fund performance, track cash flows, and prepare investor reports.
  • Due Diligence and Deal Support:
    • Participate in due diligence activities, including financial statement analysis, risk assessment, and business valuation.
    • Collaborate with investment teams to evaluate potential acquisitions, mergers, and divestitures.
    • Provide financial insights and support deal structuring and negotiations.
  • Tax Planning and Compliance:
    • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize efficiency and minimize tax liabilities.
    • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including preparation and filing of tax returns.
    • Provide guidance on tax implications related to investment decisions and portfolio management.
  • Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including senior management, investment professionals, and other accounting teams.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, such as auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is mandatory.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience (5+ years) in accounting and financial management, with a focus on private equity.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in fund accounting principles and practices for Real estate.
  • In-depth understanding of investment valuation methodologies and financial modeling.
  • Solid understanding of tax regulations and implications in the private equity industry.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
