Northwest Florida Community Hospital (NFCH), in Chipley, FL, is seeking a PRN (as needed) experienced, energetic, strong and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A) to provide exceptional care for our patients in support with medical Providers, in our Med Surg Unit.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Performs treatments and procedures to include: Specimen collection, incentive spirometry, ADL’s, skin care and ROM.
  • Takes vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, weight, height, respiration and pulse; then accurately records in the patient’s medical record.
  • Delivers and sets up patient food trays and assists with feeding patients as needed.
  • Able to lift, turn, move, position, and transport patients.
  • Assist patients with baths, showers, personal grooming, feeding, and toileting.
  • Accurately document and chart patient care.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients.
  • Must demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
  • Must be able to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
  • Provides a safe environment for patients and family members. Reduce the risk of patient falls by keeping patient rooms and areas free of excess clutter.
  • Complies with infection control standards.
  • Ensuring all confidentiality and privacy rights of residents are observe.
  • Supports and promotes the Mission, Vision, and Values; adheres to all hospital policies and procedures; commits to the Standards of Conduct; maintains professional appearance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Certified as a Nursing Assistant in the State of Florida and in good standing with the Board of Nursing or Completion of 1st semester of LPN program
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including customer service, patience, empathy and compassion
  • Effective communication skills, including active listening, writing, speaking and reading comprehension
  • Good collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Fast and adaptive problem-solving abilities
  • Keen attention to detail
  • In-depth understanding of patient care policies and regulations
  • Physical strength and stamina
  • Excellent computer and communication skills.
  • Follow all established Federal, State and Local rules, regulations and guidelines.

Must be able to lift 50 lbs. floor to waist, lift 50 lbs. waist to shoulder, lift and carry 50 lbs., and push/pull 50 lbs.
