Position Purpose:

Shred-it located in Syracuse, NY is hiring a Route Truck Driver. You will be responsible for operating a CDL Class B 26' Box Truck with built in shredder providing industry leading levels of service to clients while taking care of all customer doc destruction needs. This involves loading and unloading the truck and ensuring that all cargo is safely secured before transport.

This position requires complying with all state, local, customer, and Stericycle immunization requirements, which includes full vaccination against COVID-19. Key Job Activities:

• Drive & Operate Class B box truck in a safe and efficient manner.
• Operate shredder attached to truck onsite/offsite in order to destroy confidential material.
• Maintains a high level of security when emptying consoles and/or collection totes by ensuring all documents are retrieved and the consoles/containers are securely locked. Services accounts using a hand-held device, ensuring console/containers are barcoded, locations are up to date, and the accuracy of type & quantity of consoles/containers.
• Manages assigned routes ensuring customers’ confidential material collected and serviced in a timely and accurate manner.
• Complies with all local, state and federal laws governing driver fitness and hours of service. Complete and maintain DOT logs when applicable.
• Performs pre/post-trip checks on assigned truck, prior to leaving or closing for the day. Reports any maintenance problems to Transportation/Dispatcher for follow-up.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities, as needed.

Experience (North America):

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 Year of Experience, Preferred driving box trucks running routes.
• Current driver’s license (Class B or above) with an excellent driving record.
• All CMV/CDL drivers must be able to obtain a medical card by a certified medical examiner.
• Ability to lift 50LB required.
