Core SRQ is looking for enthusiastic, dedicated group counselors and group leaders who love camp and love kids. Camp activities include team building, sports, arts and crafts, swimming and more!

Our Summer Camp Program will operate from May 30 through August 4 at our South (8301 Potter Park Drive) and North (1075 S. Euclid Ave) Branch Locations. Positions we're hiring for are group counselors and group leaders. Check out our website at coresrq.org/camp.

Camp Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 6:00 pm - Counselors have 8 hour shifts

Pay range for positions is $12-13/hour based on experience

Responsibilities:

Manage a group of 12-15 campers, creating a safe and fun atmosphere as they go throughout their scheduled activities.

Lead games and crafts in a group setting.

Assume responsibility for the general health and welfare of the campers, clearly explaining instructions and safety directions.

Serve as a role model by exercising sound judgment in the areas of: appropriate language, appearance, attitude, and teamwork.

Communicate frequently and appropriately with the Camp Administration and parents

Create a caring environment that celebrates each camper, lead educational moments by implementing positive conflict resolution, teambuilding, inclusiveness and good sportsmanship

Plan, lead, and implement camp activities for assigned camper group

Perform all tasks and follow all rules and regulations disseminated by the Camp Administration

Have complete understanding and compliance with all policies set forth in Staff Handbook

Attend Orientation Program and Staff Meetings (May 22-27th)

Record attendance daily - Smile, have fun, and enjoy your campers!

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 17 years of age.
• Previous experience working/volunteering with children in a camp or academic setting preferred
• Certification in CPR, AED, First Aid training provided prior to the first day of working camp
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
• Must be able to provide a valid photo ID and proof that you are authorized to work in the United States.
