Camp Agapé is located 30 miles southwest of Raleigh, NC near Fuquay-Varina. Agapé rests on 624 acres of beautiful wooded rolling hills and valleys on the Cape Fear River. Agapé can accommodate up to 90 overnight guests during the summer. The site includes two retreat facilities, a dining hall, family campground, small lake, pool, nature center, group challenge course, several outdoor worship areas, miles of hiking trails, and recreational fields.

Positions :

Team Leader : Responsible for planning and preparing daily cabin times, worships, games and campfires with a small group of counselors both Onsite and on Day Camp. Staff must be 21 or over to drive camp vehicles.

Counselor : Responsible for up to 8 campers for a week. Plans and leads cabin times for campers, building intentional, meaningful relationships with them.

Support Staff : Responsible for one area of camp (i.e. archery, pool) and leading any activities that take place in that area. Will also support the Director of Food Services for meal preparation and meal clean up.

Preparation: 13 days of Staff Training which includes certification in First Aid & CPR and skills you will use the rest of your life.

Expectation: You are on duty from Sunday at noon until Friday evening each week

Contracts: Most positions are contracted from June 4 to August 9. Summer staff begin to depart on Wednesday, August 9th after lunch.

Salary and Benefits: Each staff person receives a weekly salary plus room and board. Worker's Compensation Insurance is also provided. The salary is paid every two weeks.

Time Off: Staff time off is from Friday evening following staff meeting to Sunday at noon. A daily hour break will also be programmed into all counselor schedules to give time to recharge.

Joining the staff team means you agree to follow personnel practices and understand that their faith is lived out in daily life. Staff members are team members living out their faith and values as role models and servants.

We have seven major goals we seek to accomplish with all campers:

Building self-esteem in each camper

Being positive Christian role-models

Providing a safe place for campers; physically, emotionally, spiritually

Teaching creation stewardship – every camper gets at least 2 hours of environmental education each week, plus recycling, composting and more

Building Leaders for the future – staff and campers are encouraged in their God given leadership gifts

Use Music to teach about our faith and have fun
