Cascade Pacific Council, Boy Scouts of America, a non-profit organization, is accepting applications for a full-time, year-round bookkeeper. Successful candidates will have strong accounting knowledge and skills; high proficiency in Microsoft Excel; and previous real-world accounting experience. Proficiency in Peoplesoft and Blackbaud is desirable. The organization is complex with multiple locations and various business centers, translating to a busy accounting team. Other team members include a comptroller, an AP clerk, an AR/payroll clerk, and a central cashier. Partial-week work-from-home is possible after an initial training period at a downtown Portland office. Please EMAIL A RESUME if interested.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Apply strong bookkeeping knowledge to journal entries and report-building
- Prepare accruals; general journals
- Reconcile bank accounts, cash accounts, receivables, inventory, etc.
- Maintain fixed assets
- Support other team members’ understanding and use of the chart of accounts
- Cross-train and cover vacations and other team member absences
- Perform additional tasks as requested

SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS
- Two-year accounting degree minimum
- Previous accounting experience is preferred
- Strong Excel skills are required
- Peoplesoft and Blackbaud knowledge and experience are preferred
- Excellent customer service skills for in-person, telephone, and email interactions with staff and vendors
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Ability to learn quickly and follow directions and processes, and flexibility to change tasks as needed
- Professional appearance and conduct
- Positive and cheerful attitude; tact and diplomacy
- Good communication/rapport building skills and internal customer service ethic
- Maintain confidential items and/or information
- Work efficiently, requiring minimal direct supervision
- Background check will be required
- Routine performance evaluations are performed.

COMPENSATION
- $22-24 per hour, based on training and experience
- Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and 403b plan options
- Annual performance-based compensation increases

HOURS/ENVIRONMENT
- 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm, with standard lunch and rest breaks
- Downtown Portland location / work-from-home options after initial onboarding period
- Lunchroom on premises
- Free on-site employee parking
- One block from Max Orange Line

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
