About us

We are looking to bring on a full-time, year-round Boat Yard Technician for a small, full-service boat yard. This Boat Yard is under new management and committed to growing and building its future on the Maine coast. You will have the opportunity to be part of a team dedicated to the service side of the business. This position will be integral in helping us repair and maintain our current 180 customers, while being a part in making sure we continue to grow. For this position we are willing to train the right candidate.

This Technician position is an exciting opportunity to work with a growing company from the ground up. This position should be someone who is self motivated and engaged in performing a variety of responsibilities involved in operating a Boat Yard. Duties will include everything from fiberglass repair and woodworking to engine and systems maintenance. The successful candidate for this position will be highly organized, dependable and competent. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in all aspects of the marine industry on the waterfront.

Responsibilities:

• Outboard and inboard engine maintenance
• Troubleshooting and repair of all boat systems
• New electronics installations
• New engine repowers and rigging installations.
• Knowledge of bottom painting and boat detailing
• Fiberglass/composite repair
• Woodworking/carpentry
• Operate yard equipment and hydraulic trailer for hauling/launching.
• Effectively communicate with team members to manage projects and deadlines.

Preferred experience:

• ABYC Certification(s)
• Diesel manufacturer certification(s)
• Outboard manufacturer certification(s)
• Boat operation up to 40 ft.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 - $38.00 per hour
