Additional Information About the Role
  • Monday - Friday (8 am to 4:30 pm)
  • Working with clients in St. Louis County ages 16-25 years old
  • Location: Pagedale office (6763 Page Ave. St. Louis, MO 63133) but requires driving and travel within the St. Louis County region
  • Must be able to work calmly under pressure, good communication skills, ability to work within a team, willing to meet clients in the community and in their homes
  • Job responsibilities : resume building, interview preparation, helping clients job search, determining how to work around barriers to education and job goals, meeting with schools to help client advocate for their needs, connecting clients to resources for education and job, helping clients fill out FAFSA, meeting with employers to help clients advocate for accommodations, and other duties as needed
  • Example of a typical Day: Team Huddles, meeting with clients to work towards vocational and education goals, completing timely documentation
  • Must be willing to work in the community as this is a community based position

Overview


BJC Behavioral Health
is a community health center that provides and coordinates behavioral health services for more than 8,000 seriously mentally ill adults and seriously emotionally disturbed children in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Franois, Iron and Washington counties. As an Administrative Agent of the Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH), BJC Behavioral Health serves as a major point of entry for people eligible for mental health services funded by DMH and is responsible for serving as gatekeeper to the public mental health system.

Role Purpose

Facilitates linkage and coordination with area employment resources that increase the opportunities for meaningful employment and educational experiences.


Responsibilities

  • Develops a variety of employment and educational opportunities for BJC Behavioral Health clients.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with the business community to establish and maintain employment opportunities for clients.
  • Acts as a liaison with the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation and other social service agencies for staff and clients.
  • Provides consultation to staff and clients in area of employment.

Education

  • Associate's Degree

Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid Driver's License
