Associate Research/Data Analyst: MTAS

Location: 301 W. High Street, Jefferson City, MO

Annual Salary: $45,000 - $55,000

HOW THIS POSITION SUPPORTS THE DEPARTMENT’S VISION:

This position is responsible for completing basic research and analysis for reporting and/or auditing purposes within the Missouri Transportation Accounting System (MTAS). It is responsible for providing technical advice and knowledge of procedures related to the MTAS unit.

DUTIES PERFORMED TO SUPPORT THE DEPARTMENT’S VISION:

• Compile Data for internal compliance requests and State Auditor Requests
• Approve Daily Cash Receipt Totals in SAM II
• Assist MTAS with accounting and correction issues
• Assist License Offices with questions or concerns regarding deposit paperwork
• Perform end of the month balancing duties
• Process daily bank transfers for distribution of funds
• Complete regular maintenance for the MTAS and ACH Billing System
• Train new team members on policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or 4-6 years of relevant experience and/or appropriate certification (Substitutions may be allowed)
• 3-5 years’ experience in governmental accounting, or closely related work

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of basic research methods and analysis
• Knowledge of motor vehicle policies and procedures
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access
